Entries for the Cape Town International Ballet Competition (CTIBC) close on 20 April, 2010.
From 12th to 17th July 2010, the Artscape Opera House in the Mother City will once again host the country’s premier ballet competition, the newly named Cape Town International Ballet Competition (CTIBC).

All applicants are urged to submit their necessary documentation and dvd’s as soon as possible, as the entry deadline of 20th April is drawing closer, and the applicants need to be assessed as soon as possible.

Mzansi Productions, SA’s versatile theatre dance company, is proud to announce the arrival in the country this week of two senior student dancers and a teacher from the internationally acclaimed National Ballet School of Cuba in Havana.

During their 8-week residency with Mzansi Productions, teacher Ms Elena Cangas and male students Yasset Roldan (17) and Alberto Terrero Jr. (17) will share their expertise, experience, skills and talent with South African dancers, teachers and audiences.

FNB Dance Umbrella 2010, presented by First National Bank in association with the National Arts Council and The Market Theatre will run from 27 February to 14 March 2010 with performances at various Johannesburg theatres: the Wits Theatre in Braamfontein, the UJ Centre for the Arts in Auckland Park, and The Dance Factory, The Market Theatre and the Barney Simon theatre in Newtown.
