
Craig Smith and Natalie Woolf, South Africa's very own reigning World Exhibition Champions, are the proud recipients of the prestigious Carl Alan Award in Performance in Theatre Arts.
Having been nominated and then shortlisted for the award, Craig and Natalie flew out to London to attend the awards ceremony and do a demonstration at the function.
At the awards ceremony it was announced that they had won the award, making them only the 4 person from South Africa to receive this prestigious award.
Other South African recipients of the award were Bill Ervin, multiple World Ballroom and Latin American Champion, Bryan Watson multiple World Latin American Champion, Lilian Pororo (Dooley), internationally recognized adjudicator and head judge of Strictly Come Dancing South Africa.
Craig and Natalie specialise in Exhibition dance, (A pas de deux) incorporating spectacular lift work through strength and agility, with the aesthetic beauty and fluidity of classic dance. They are the reigning British Open Champions as well as the reigning Professional Exhibition Champions.
Craig and Natalie started performing together in 2006 and have gone on to perform for audiences internationally and locally with appearances on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, guest demonstrators at the 2008 and 2009 Vail International Dance Festival in Colorado USA, and feature artists at the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix. They have accumulated 4 World Championship Titles, 2 British Open Titles and 1 United States Open Title.
