Call for proposals: Confluences 7

UCT School of Dance

The University of Cape Town School of Dance will host the seventh Confluences conference from July 11-13, 2013 in Cape Town South Africa. This conference seeks to share a range of responses to the nexus of Dance, Religion and Spirituality within the context of the performing arts, with a view to unearth and articulate the varied and complex interactions of the dancing body-spirit.

A Movement Medicine weekend workshop by UK-based specialist Ya'Acov Darling-Khan on 13 and 14 October at Wits Sports Centre Johannesburg PLUS open dance on 12 October. The Dancing Warrior embodies a powerful and creative force that resides within us all. It is an archetypal energy you can gain access to by surrendering to the force of the dance.

Desiré Davids takes Dance Forum residency

Dance Forum is pleased to announce that the well-known choreographer and performer Desiré Davids will be taking up a residency at the Dance Space next week.

This is the fifth and final residency in a series of Choreographers’ residency programmes hosted by Dance Forum, (the production company of Dance Umbrella) with funding received from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund.
