On August 13th 2010, The South African Ballet Theatre (SABT) returns to the Mandela Stage, at the Joburg Theatre with the sizzling and sultry ballet ‘Carmen’.

Much like the wining Spanish FIFA World Cup team with their supporters, SABT has been enjoying the tremendous wave of support from ballet- loving patrons from all sectors of the community.

The country’s favourite dance show SABC1 Mzansi fo sho’s So You Think You Can Dance sizzles onto the small screen this week with a second season jam-packed with surprises and some well known faces.

This year’s final 16 contestants face a gruelling and exciting season, much tougher final round with the dreaded judges to impress before one of them walks away with the grand prize of R250 000. And holding it together once again is the fabulous Sade Giliberti.

Today the final day of the 2010 World Cup, I was privileged to be part of what proved to be one of the highlights of my three decade experiences at Moving into Dance Mophatong (MIDM).

What was the cause of this excitement? It was one of those moments where one meets a celebrity who turns out to be unassuming, genuinely impressed by what he sees and actually takes the time to not only thank those involved at MIDM but actually dances, hugs and shakes hands with all of us.

Craig Smith and Natalie Woolf representing South Africa, recently regained their crown as the 2010 Blackpool Professional Exhibition Division Champions.

With last year’s winners Nicky Dawson and Cherise Mallen (South Africa) and all other notable South African exhibitions couples, not taking part in this year’s event, this left the door open for two USA couples to fill the second and third positions.

SADTA Hip Hop Day Gauteng - Walter Sisulu Hall, Randburg, is to be held on 31st July and 1st August 2010.
